Professional Development

The Personal Chefs Cooperative is the perfect trade association to help you whether you are a seasoned chef/culinarian or just starting out. Our members are helpful in the forum and willing to share experience and advice. Our Chef Proven Recipes (CPR) are a great addition to already established recipe portfolios if you are a seasoned chef and will help your business get off the ground if you are just starting.

If you are a new personal chef just starting your business, there are many good books available (many at discounted rates online) that provide all the basic knowledge you need to launch a successful personal chef business. Your colleagues in the Personal Chefs Cooperative will be there to fill in the gaps between the lines.

Since our focus is on our members’ success, we keep our membership fee affordable to better serve both new and established businesses. If you are a student in culinary school or apprenticed in the food industry, we offer a reduced student rate to help you explore your opportunities in this aspect of the culinary arts and invite you to join us. We love what we do and our enthusiasm is contagious!

We are presently working with our talented members to provide you with a list of avenues you can pursue in the area of professional development that will help to enrich your knowledge base and help you succeed in this industry. We offer resources for expanding your culinary knowledge, business knowledge and the most important aspect of running your own culinary based business which is marketing. You will pick and choose which areas you want to focus your efforts on. Culinary school grads with a strong background in cooking techniques may choose to focus only on the business aspect of building their business while a self taught cook might choose to expand both their culinary skills and their business skills.

PCC Professional Development

PCC is fortunate to have as members, many successful, professional entrepreneurs that are generous about sharing their knowledge.  PCC has decided to go in the direction of sharing the knowledge of the successful business people and to take advantage of the years of practical real life, real business knowledge that exists and create a Professional Development resource for members.

While PPC is a non-profit organization, the members of PCC are successful business owners and do make a profit within their businesses.  Fees for Professional Development services will be set by individual members.  The services that will be offered include recommendations for culinary classes, business coaches, job shadowing, culinary vacations and video classes from within the membership.

Information about entrepreneur members in good standing, with qualifications that will be drawn up and approved by the board, will be made available on the PCC website so members can view and choose the Professional Development path that makes the most sense for them.

We look forward to providing members the information they need and a path for new business opportunities.
