Our Mission Statement

The Personal Chefs Cooperative will provide a national network for likeminded professionals in the culinary field to come together for professional culinary and business support and joint marketing and also to work toward the common good through charitable endeavors.

Why We Choose to be a Non-Profit Cooperative

A cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled enterprise.

Many of us began as customers of the single-owner personal chef association businesses and we found that, while the training was good for the new chef starting out in business, networking and support for experienced chefs was lacking and often constricting. The Personal Chefs Cooperative creates a vibrant and active national community of culinary professionals in an environment that is respectful and supportive of both the creative artist that is the chef and the entrepreneur that is the business owner. The PCC is member- owned and member-run, with each member having a voice in the running of the association.

Our Culture

Our culture is one of culinary entrepreneurs who possess individual and many times unique skills in the kitchen and also in business. We come together in the PCC to provide ongoing mentoring and networking to support each others’ success by sharing those skills.

Our professional online forums are the most active in the industry with over one hundred new posts per day from scores of enthusiastic members. Our members value the opportunity to network online. We can get an answer to any culinary question posted to our Foodie Talk Forum usually within minutes from one of our many mentor chefs. Our Foodie Family Forum is an area for socializing and getting to know one another and anchors the “family” atmosphere of the PCC. We have an extensive number of business forums, from marketing to catering to software in our Doing Business as a PC Forum. Our searchable Chef Proven Recipes (CPR) Forum is one of our best resources for our members. We embrace the “out of the box” thinking that our members promote, and our online forums enable us to share our love of food and our passion for owning our own business and being our own boss. We also have forums dedicated to Catering, Dinner Parties and Commercial Kitchens for those chefs who are working in those areas.

As a group, we believe in reaching higher personally, striving to be better professionally, and encouraging charitable outreach. Together we can speak with a louder voice, make a stronger impact, and leave the world a little bit better than we found it. Our culture of encouraging our members to live a better life with more meaning has inspired our Charitable Foundation, which will always be an integral part of our association.
